How refreshing to read the book of Habakkuk this morning. Habakkuk’s feelings were not controlled by the events around him but by faith in God’s ability to give him strength.
The woes of this world come at us with overwhelming force and abundance, like trying to get a drink from a fire hydrant. We wonder why those who are evil seem to prosper and the righteous suffer? God’s answer: they don’t, not in the long run!
“Look at the nations and watch - and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” - Habakkuk 1:5
God has long range plans and purposes even when we don’t understand why he works as he does. Let us each stay faithful to the call he has put on our lives to fulfill His purposes through each of us.
